Rob and I subbed for CCD last Sunday. The class was older kids, 8-9, in first formation. Wow. The group is very new to the Catholic Faith. We did the Our Father line by line. I had the kids learn about a spiritual bouquet. Wow. I wrote the names of our three priests on the board. Not one kid knew the name of our pastor. We listed things we were thankful for on behalf of our priests. I had to review the format for a letter—another thing seldom taught in public schools. Then we made paper flowers. One of the kids was acting up and I forgot to take pix. The pix are from Faith Camp. I hope this isn’t a preview of the RE classes for the whole year.
