My son, Fr. Josh, helped with VBS at the Kadena AFB in Japan. The group led science experiments with faith stories. I teach Biology and Chemistry for the local Co-op. I’ve seen a few experiments conducted during VBS which have merit. I looked for websites you could use.
1. Thirteen Weeks of Bible Science has scripted lessons. The ‘Dirty Water Becomes Clean’ is about sin and forgiveness. The VBS director can use simple experiments like this one to introduce the theme, Forgiveness, to the group.
2. Four Fun Science Experiments to illustrate your next Bible lesson have a great experiment to describe the duality of Christ or the Trinity. I think light better illustrates the duality of Christ. Light has both wave and particle natures, just as Christ is fully human and fully divine. You can only consider one nature at a time—just like light!
3.7 Science Experiment Bible Lessons examine unique finger prints, mirror images, marshmallows, and jumping raisins.
