You may have noticed that I’m not following the plan in order at all. Basically, I have 50 items to do and two weeks to fit everything into one camp. My husband, Rob, has helped tweak things. We agreed the kids need loads of review. He thinks we need little field trips. We listen to the kids. They like to watch VeggieTales during Snack. Max, our aide, put on an excerpt from the Prince of Egypt, the plague scene, while the kids worked on a wheel with ten plagues. The kids asked for more Once Upon a Saint stories while they work. Everyday, we pull extra activities in case the kids manage to race ahead of the plan. Next week, there are four teens helping all week. I’m saving the more complicated projects, such as mini icons, monstrance crafts, and pajaki for next week when we have lots of help. Most of all, I’m letting joy be our compass and praying for another good week.
